No refund received for storm - al.com: "BAY MINETTE — Baldwin County commissioners on Thursday ended the state of local emergency declared Sunday as then-Hurricane Ida approached, but learned there is still some financial fallout from Hurricane Ike last year.
Commissioners learned that the county still hasn't received $440,000 in reimbursement for sand-clearing work on the Fort Morgan peninsula following Hurricane Ike in September 2008.
Emergency Management Director Leigh Anne Ryals said Alabama Emergency Management Agency officials have received the money from the federal government, but were postponing releasing it to the county until Baldwin's dispute with the federal EMA over about $5.8 million in reimbursements from hurricanes Ivan and Katrina was settled."
