The vote on the new charter for the City of Pensacola passed Tuesday by a tally of 7,762 to 6,308.
"The people have spoken loud and clear. And as mayor, I certainly respect this decision and can't wait to move forward with this new form of government," said Pensacola Mayor Mike Wiggins, who plans to run for the seat next year."
