Gulf Coast Zoo has a wish list - al.com: "As far as Christmas wish lists go, the one for monkeys at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is fairly simple. Toddler toys, new or used, dry pasta and pudding pops are at the top.

The hoofed animals are hoping for some alfalfa, peppermint or timothy hay. The bears, as always, ask for peanut butter, yogurt and meat — Cornish game hens and Vienna sausages will do. And the cats and wolves want three things: meat, chew toys and cheap perfume.

With each winter's holiday season, the nonprofit zoo compiles a list of special treats for its 270-some animals."
