Board won't ask for tax at tonight's meeting - al.com: "Baldwin County schools face more cuts in staffing and services without more money, but Board of Education members said now is not the time to ask the County Commission for a 1-cent sales tax.

At a work session Tuesday night at Fairhope High School, board members also discussed one aspect of funding in closed session.

The board sent audience members out of the auditorium for an hour while it met to discuss equity funding. Before the meeting was closed, Scotty Lewis, attorney for the board, said the reason for the executive session was to discuss 'imminent legal action.'"
