Authors Bragg and Brewer to Sign Books

The Orange Beach Public Library, Just Books and Coastal Books will host an Author Book Signing featuring Alabama authors Rick Bragg and Sonny Brewer the evening of December 3, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at the Orange Beach Senior Center.

Author Rick Bragg will be signing The Most They Ever Had. In spring of 2001, across the South, padlocks and logging chains bind the doors of silent mills, and it seems a miracle to blue-collar people in Jacksonville, Alabama, that their mill survived. In these real-life stories, Pulitzer Prize winner Bragg brilliantly evokes the hardscrabble lives of those who lived and died by an American cotton mill.

Author Sonny Brewer will be signing The Widow and The Tree. Set in the mysterious countryside of coastal Alabama, a fabled giant tree has kept watch over a widow's family land for 500 years. Her father is buried in its shade. So why would she hire someone to kill Ghosthead Oak? Brewer's provocative novel is based on a true story.
