Fairhope asks expert to talk on school split - al.com: "FAIRHOPE — The City Council voted Monday to invite Ira Harvey, a consultant who lives in Birmingham, to speak to the council next month about a study on separating city schools from the Baldwin County system.

A group of Fairhope parents in September sent a letter asking the City Council to fund a study costing an estimated $25,000 on the possible system split. The council included the funds needed for the study in the annual budget passed the following month, but the council has taken no action yet to hire Harvey.

'I don't want us to hire the man when we haven't even met him yet,' said Councilwoman Debbie Quinn."
