Alabama BirdFest set to take flight - al.com: "Before daybreak today hundreds of birders will flock to the Five Rivers Delta Resource Center on the Causeway then fan out to far-flung locales in search of the hundreds of avian species that stop in south Alabama enroute to South America.
That ritual continues through Sunday as part of the sixth annual John L. Borom Alabama Coastal BirdFest.
'This is a prime time and prime spot because millions of birds from all over North America are funneling through our area on their way to their winter homes,' said BirdFest coordinator Fran Morley. 'That's why serious birders are traveling from all over to come here.'"
