Polo at the Point to begin today - al.com: "POINT CLEAR — Across a playing ground the size of nine football fields, riders and horses thunder over the turf in what has become not only an area tradition, but a major charity fundraiser.

Polo at the Point starts today at a new location, the Sonny Hill-Clearwater Polo Complex just off U.S. 98, said Linda Lou Parsons, event chairwoman. Since its beginning in 1988, the event has raised more than $2.7 million for charities, according to organizers.

The competition has also grown into one of the major events in polo in the United States, said Hutch Radcliff of Fairhope."
