Orange Beach ponders sewer partnership - al.com

Orange Beach ponders sewer partnership - al.com: "ORANGE BEACH — Elected officials are mulling a partnership with a Bir mingham-based utility that could net the city about $1.2 million up front and generate millions more for the city over the 30-year life of the deal.

Under terms of the proposal with Integra Water, Orange Beach would lease capacity at its wastewater treatment facility to the company as well as its sewer lines in an area generally shaped by the Foley Beach Express, U.S. 98, the state line and the Intracoastal Water way. Orange Beach would also lease its 833 existing nonresident customers north of the city limits to the company.

Integra, which will assume maintenance duties of the city's lines north of the Intracoastal Waterway, will be able to expand the sewerage system there, with Orange Beach sharing in the revenue generated by any new customers."
