GOP holdup on Benjamin nomination to continue - al.com: "WASHINGTON — Despite the Obama administration's retreat from a so-called 'gag order' on health insurance companies, a prominent Republican senator has no immediate plans to let the nominations of Dr. Regina Benjamin and other top White House health picks move ahead for final approval.

The administration's new policy 'needs further review,' said Michael Mahaffey, a spokesman for Wyoming Sen. Michael Enzi, the top Republican on the Senate health committee.

President Obama nominated Benjamin, the acclaimed founder of a Bayou La Batre medical clinic, for the job of U.S. surgeon general in July."
