Baldwin commission wins grant for energy-efficiency upgrades - al.com: "The Baldwin County Commission has received a $719,700 federal grant to pay for upgrades to improve the energy efficiency of air-conditioning units and lighting systems in several county-owned buildings.

'The county is being very proactive in working to become more energy efficient,' Baldwin County Commission Chairman Ed Bishop said. The funds will be used for 'older facilities that are in need of energy efficiency upgrades,' he said.

Buford King, the county's energy conservation program manager, said that when county officials decided to pursue American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grants earlier this year, a study was done to identify the county's most urgent needs."
