Federal flood program extended - al.com: "WASHINGTON — The National Flood Insurance Program, or NFIP, is in line for yet another temporary extension under a catch-all spending bill headed for President Barack Obama's desk, according to industry and Capitol Hill sources.

The bill, approved by the House and Senate on Thursday, will keep the federally backed flood program in business through Dec. 18, a spokesman for the House Appropriations Committee said."
