ORANGE BEACH - al.com: "ORANGE BEACH — City officials say they're no longer considering leasing to a private utility 833 sewer customers and about 50 miles of lines that sit north of the municipal boundaries.
The City Council will, however, consider leasing capacity at its new wastewater treatment plant to Birmingham-based Integra Water, which agreed last year to build and operate a sewage treatment facility for the nonprofit East Central Baldwin County Water, Sewer and Fire Protection Authority.
In a letter sent by the company to Mayor Tony Kennon last week, Integra said that it still hopes the city will consider the more involved partnership and considers a deal to lease capacity at the municipal plant as a move toward a greater pact."
