River closer to top environmental status - al.com: "Supporters hope to learn in a few months if the Magnolia River will receive the state's highest classification of environmental protection — Outstanding Alabama Water.
The Alabama Environmental Management Commission is considering the request submitted by local officials and residents working on the project, said Magnolia Springs Councilman Brett Gaar. He said the final ruling on the request should be made in early 2010.
'We're hopeful that we should get it,' Gaar said. 'We've got the sampling data and everything looks good.'"
