Orange Beach proposes sewer rate hike to save city jobs | Breaking News from the Press-Register - al.com: "ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- Searching for ways to slice away at a multimillion-dollar budget deficit forecast for 2010, city officials have proposed hiking monthly sewer rates.

The proposed increases would raise residents' monthly bills from $20 to $28. Customers who live beyond the city limits would pay $42 under the proposal, up from $30.
The proposal would also eliminate a $5 monthly fee for nonresidents that the city has yet to actually collect. And it would change the method in which fees for some commercial establishments are calculated."
