Vendors from as far away as Colorado and California called for instructions on registering or even just finding the boardwalk where the annual celebration takes place at the public beach. With more than 300,000 visitors also expected for the weekend, last-minute details remained to be worked out.

'Right now, it's all Shrimp Festival everywhere for all of us,' Stillings said. 'People call needing help and hopeful ly, I have the answers.'"
