Large raptors steal show at BirdFest event in Fairhope - al.com: "FAIRHOPE — Gasps and wows flew from open mouths as Alabama 4-H educator Becky Collier reached her gloved left hand into a cage, then pulled out a massive Eurasian eagle owl — the largest owl species and one of the world's biggest birds.

Each of its feet — perched on Collier's glove — was as strong as a small shark's mouth and could crush the bones of a small deer, she told the crowd.

'So, please, no one pop any balloons. The last time that happened, boy, was my arm black-and-blue,' Collier said."
