Private utility seeking partnership with city - al.com

Private utility seeking partnership with city - al.com: "A Birmingham-based utility that agreed last year to build and operate a rural wastewater treatment facility for the non profit East Central Baldwin County Water, Sewer and Fire Protection Authority has announced that it is pursuing a partnership with Orange Beach to lease capacity in the city's sewage system.

In a news release issued last week, privately owned Integra Water LLC said it has asked Orange Beach if it can lease an unspecified amount of capacity in its sewage system.

Mayor Tony Kennon said City Hall received a written proposal from Integra last month and has 'looked at it briefly,' but talks have so far been limited. Kennon said city officials are planning to meet with the company this week but the mayor said it is unclear to him why Integra made its proposal public."
