City approves county fiber-optic link - al.com: "ROBERTSDALE — A fiber-optic link between municipal and county dispatchers should get police and firefighters on their way to emergency scenes in less time, according to city officials.

The Robertsdale City Council voted Monday to approve a joint project with the Baldwin 911 system to connect municipal and county dispatchers using fiber-optic lines. The total cost of the project is expected to be $23,505, with the Baldwin 911 system paying $16,720 and the city's share being $6,785, said Greg Smith, city engineer.

B&L Cable Construction of Andalusia was hired for the project."
