ALABAMA EXPOSURE: Alabama’s Web page makes top 10 list | TuscaloosaNews.com | The Tuscaloosa News | Tuscaloosa, AL: "The state of Alabama’s Web page has been listed among the Brookings Institution Top 10 Web pages. The Brookings study said it looked at about 30 Web sites for each state and analyzed offerings for government service and information, Gov. Bob Riley’s office said.
“Alabama has made huge strides toward making state government more accessible and helpful to our citizens by increasing and enhancing our presence on the Internet,” Riley said. “We have also utilized the Internet to make government more transparent and accountable by making public information easier to find.”
The information technology professionals at the finance department’s Information Services Division added features to the Web sites and even designed new sites, Riley said.
The Web page, www.alabama.gov, offers more than 130 online services. Web sites include www.open.alabama.gov and
www.media.alabama.gov."
