WSFA 12 News Montgomery, AL |Opelika BFGoodrich plant to close: "OPELIKA, AL (WSFA) - The BFGoodrich plant in Opelika will shut down in response to an 'unprecedented drop in market demand,' according to company officials. The plant's owner, Michelin North America, made the announcement Monday that it would shutter its Lee County location and relocate operations to other plants in Alabama and Indiana. The final day of operations is expected no later than October 31, 2009."
