DAUPHIN ISLAND RACE: Officials expect competitive event this weekend - al.com: "The sagging economy may put a slight dent in the total number of entries for Saturday's Dauphin Island Race, but chairman Jim Green isn't losing much sleep over it.

'All is good. I think the economic times have hurt, not just this race, but all regattas nationwide. Still, we think we're going to have a pretty good number this weekend and we're looking forward to it,' he said. 'It's just an annual party around here, and I think everyone is excited about having a good time.'"
