Swimmer drowns | pnj.com | Pensacola News Journal: "A man drowned Friday afternoon when he and a woman were caught in a rip current off Perdido Key, just east of Johnson Beach.

The victim, Danny Johnson, 59, of Robertsdale, Ala., was flown by helicopter to Baptist Hospital after lifeguards pulled him from the surf. He was pronounced dead at 4:48 p.m."
