At the Foley City Council meeting Monday, retired Col. Bill Kringel presented the Pro Patria award to municipal offi cials. Kringel said Foley is the state's 2009 winner of the award for public employers, which is presented by the Alabama Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Kringel said the award also recognized Riviera for the city-owned utility service's role in supporting the National Guard."
