Orange Beach preparing pitch to keep SEC women's soccer tournament in town - al.com: "ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- With one year remaining on its contract to host the Southeastern Conference women's soccer tournament, city officials said this week that they were preparing their pitch to the athletic conference to keep the event in south Baldwin County beyond 2010.

'We're going to do whatever it takes to keep it here,' Mayor Tony Kennon said. 'With an 8-year track record, we won't really have to sell ourselves.'

Orange Beach first hosted the eight-team tournament in November 2003. Hurricane Ivan forced the conference officials to move the event to Auburn in 2004. Play resumed in Orange Beach in 2005 and the tournament has been a staple event for the area each fall."
