Gulf Shores: Owners of Lagoon-front tract owe $82,000 for roadwork | Breaking News from the Press-Register - al.com: "GULF SHORES, Ala. -- City Hall is seeking nearly $82,000 from the owners of a partially developed tract on Little Lagoon, claiming that the debt is a result of roadwork needed to accommodate the stalled project.

The property, about 12 acres just west of Fort Morgan Road's intersection with Regency Road, is owned by Gulf Development LLC, a company owned by Rex and Martha Thorn, an Elmore County couple.

'We noticed the property was up for sale and we wanted to make sure we got what was due to us,' Public Works Director Mark Acreman said last week. 'It's taxpayers' money so we want to make sure we get it.'"
