Beach fee proposal rekindled in Orange Beach ahead of shoreline restoration | Breaking News from the Press-Register - al.com: "ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- As city officials plan the next major beach restoration project, Mayor Tony Kennon said he will rekindle a proposal to charge property owners along Ala. 182 a special assessment to help pay for the work.

As such, he's scheduled a public forum for Feb. 9 to discuss the matter. The discussion is slated to begin following that evening's 5 p.m. City Council work session at the Orange Beach Community Center on Canal Road.

'I don't think we're going to bring any specific proposals to the table, we're just trying to gather information,' Kennon said Tuesday. 'We really just want to have a general discussion.'"
