Fallen Marine Bruce E. Ferrell laid to rest in Perdido - al.com: "PERDIDO — Rifles cracked in salute, loved ones wept and a bugler played taps as Marine Lance Cpl. Bruce Earnest 'Bubba' Ferrell Jr. was buried Monday.

Ferrell, 21, of Perdido was a machine gunner with the 8th Marine Regiment, when he died Aug. 10. He was on a foot patrol in the Helmand province west of Kandahar in Afghanistan when an improvised explosive device detonated.

On Monday, Ferrell was buried at Bryars-McGill Cemetery, next to his sister, Danielle Denise Whatley, who died in a traffic accident in 2006, also at age 21. The Marine was the eldest son of Pam and Bruce Ferrell Sr."
