Orange Beach celebrates 25 - al.com: "ORANGE BEACH — Despite its name, the new town was so small when incorporated in 1984 that the corporate limits did not reach the beach, said the municipality's first mayor.

On Saturday, Orange Beach celebrated the 25th anniversary of incorporation with a festival that included music, food, historical exhibits and other activities. Looking at the activity in the park behind the City Hall, Ronnie Callaway, mayor from 1984 to 1992, said the city has grown since those first days.

'It's looking good,' he said. 'Things are growing and growing, but some things haven't changed.'"
