FEMA reduces claim, but still wants Baldwin County to repay $5.8 million - al.com: "BAY MINETTE — The Federal Emergency Management Agency has decided that Baldwin County should repay more than half the $10.5 million in hurricane cleanup reimbursements challenged by U.S. government auditors.

Now county officials will consider whether to continue fighting the $5.8 million claim through an appeal or arbitration, said County Administrator Michael Thompson.

'They are going in the right direction,' Thompson said of the FEMA decision. 'We're halfway there.'"
