Orange Beach celebrates its 25th birthday on Saturday - al.com: "ORANGE BEACH — In 1984, a small town of about 1,000 people was formed on the southern shores of Wolf Bay and Bay La Launch.

Since then, Orange Beach has expanded rapidly and has quickly developed one of the more prominent skylines in the Southeast.

'At 25, you're still kind of an infant compared to a lot of other cities,' said City Administrator Ken Grimes. 'To come that far in such a short time is really an experience.'"
