Labeling fish bill passes - al.com: "MONTGOMERY — A measure requiring restaurants to let customers know whether their fish comes from the U.S. or abroad passed the Alabama Legislature on Friday.

The bill's sponsor, Rep. Spencer Collier, R-Irvington, said such labeling will likely lead consumers to choose fish caught close to home and help local industry.

'I think that, given the opportunity and the proper knowledge, the consumer is going to choose the domestic product,' Collier said."
