Farmers markets growing - al.com

Farmers markets growing - al.com: "With offerings including honey, Gulf shrimp, flowers and homemade bread, the farmers markets opening this month around Baldwin County are more than outdoor produce sections, according to organizers.

The markets in Foley, Elberta, Fairhope and Gulf Shores are a chance for residents to buy locally grown food, talk to the people who produced the items and support area farmers, said Skip Sullivan of the Alabama Farmers Market Authority.

'I love going to farmers markets,' he said. 'I love knowing where my food came from. These people aren't just selling goods, they're selling food.'"
