Foley will widen school intersection - al.com: "FOLEY — Traffic near the new elementary and middle schools should flow more smoothly when the new academic year resumes in August.
The Foley City Council voted Tuesday night to appoint the engineering company Hutchinson, Moore and Rauch to draw up plans to widen the intersection of U.S. 98 and Cedar Street. The company will receive $28,275 for the project.
The construction project will include adding a center lane to allow eastbound traffic on U.S. 98 to turn north on Cedar to the school, said Wendell 'Butch' Stokes, city engineer. A center lane will also be added on Cedar to improve the flow of traffic to and from the school."
