ORANGE BEACH - al.com: "ORANGE BEACH — Taking a cue from the De Tonti Square neighborhood in Mobile, city officials are thinking about creating a community garden on public land.

Mayor Tony Kennon told the City Council on Tuesday that he got the idea from talking to City Attorney Wanda Cochran, who lives in the historic neighborhood that built a community garden on a vacant city-owned tract in the heart of Mobile.

'I'd like to see if we can't take the property over behind the Teen Center and form some type of community co-op so we can divide up the property and let folks have little garden plots,' Kennon said."
