"Master the Art of Reading" this summer at the Orange Beach Public Library and explore the worlds of art, books and more. Get in touch with your creative side! The 2009 Adult Summer Reading Program is open to adults ages 18 and older, and offers programs, prizes and hands-on creative opportunities. The adult program will run concurrently with the children's and young adult's programs titled "Be Creative @ Your Library" and "Express Yourself" respectively.
Our adult program kicks off Thursday evening, June 4, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. with Gyotaku. We will learn the basics of the art and technique of Japanese fish printing. Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. we will learn a few simple bookbinding techniques that just may get you started making your own holiday gifts this year. Registration for the Adult Summer Reading Program begins May 27, 2009.

No minimum reading requirements and no artistic talent or previous knowledge necessary. All programs are free of charge, but reservations are required.
