Sand Mountain Reporter: "Two Marshall County lawmakers say changing a law would overcome the barriers to developing a convention hotel at Gulf State Park.

In a joint statement this week, Sen. Hinton Mitchemand Rep. Frank McDaniel said the court’s ruling, released Friday, “is quite encouraging.”

“Contrary to early reports, there is only one issue that prevents us from moving forward with plans to develop a convention hotel at Gulf State Park,” the lawmakers said in a statement released by the Marshall County Legislative Office.

“We believe that can be addressed easily from a legislative standpoint.”"
