Recovering mayor plans a comeback - al.com: "GULF SHORES — Mayor Robert Craft, recovering from January brain surgery, said he hopes to return to his elected office in late April.

For the past few weeks Craft, 57, has been in City Hall catching up on his work, steadily increasing his hours and waiting on word from his doctors to come back full time.

In an interview Monday at City Hall, the first-term mayor, accompanied by his wife, Beth, and friend Tracy Holiday, said that he has an appointment with his Birmingham-based doctors in mid-April that will most likely determine exactly when he can resume full-time work."
