The ministerial group home and ranch on 81 acres in Summerdale opened its doors to troubled young men last December despite tough economic times. So when the $60,000 grant from PowerSurge 100 was awarded to the Christian ministry in June, it was a godsend.

'It has been the shot in the arm to get us through and a get a little more established in Baldwin County,' said Derrall Mayfield, director of Youth Reach Gulf Coast. 'With the grant, we have been able to do things we normally weren't able to do out of the regular budget.'"
