Orange Beach Fire-rescue folks courteous, helpful - al.com

Letters, faxes, and e-mail - al.com: "On Friday, April 17, my daughter and I arrived in Orange Beach for the weekend. My daughter was driving, and she pulled behind our dwelling so we could unload our luggage (our key was to the back door).

We had not had dinner and it was getting late. We unloaded quickly to go eat. My daughter, not being used to the sand, backed up and turned to pull out, and the front end of our vehicle went down in the sand to the bumper. We began to walk to a nearby service station.

When we walked near the Orange Beach Fire and Rescue, we decided to ask for their help.

We have never been greeted or assisted by anyone more courteous or willing to help two ladies in distress. They took us back to our vehicle, and with very little trouble they pulled our vehicle from the sand.

They would not accept any gratuity for their service. I'm sure this is not the first time they had performed this deed.

Our neighbor, who is bedridden, had nothing but praise for this organization. He is a large person and has to go to the doctor frequently. They come to his home and load him in a vehicle, and upon his return they are there to return him to his bed.

Give the folks at Orange Beach Fire and Rescue credit for all they do.
