Foley chosen for state program - al.com: "Foley is one of five cities chosen for a state program that will include free assessments of current planning and leadership programs and recommendations for future development, city officials said Monday.

The city will take part in the 2009 Alabama Community of Excellence program. Arab, Eufaula, Hartselle and Montevallo are also taking part in the program.

'This would be a big boost for us in industrial recruitment, retirees, (and) tourism,' Mayor John Koniar said. 'We still have some things that we need to do, but the initial response is that this is good news.'"
