Deal would save most area Bruno's, Food World stores - al.com: "Southern Family Markets would buy and run 31 Bruno's and Food World stores, including 11 of 14 in southwest Alabama, if its bid is approved Monday by a bankruptcy judge, according to a list obtained by the Press-Register.

The chain, a subsidiary of C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc., would pay $45.8 million for 56 stores, Bruno's Supermarkets LLC said Thursday. Under the offer, Southern Family would close 25 stores. Hilco Merchant Resources LLC would handle going-out-business sales and partnered with C&S in the bid, according to Reuters news service."
