Chili Cook-Off spices up Saturday in Gulf Shores, Ala. | pnj.com | Pensacola News Journal: "This weekend, get the acid reducers out for the 18th annual Alabama State Chili Cook-Off. The event is set for noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Gulf Shores Adult Activity Center, 260 Club House Drive, Gulf Shores, Ala."


This event draws some of the Southeast's finest chili chefs and hundreds of chili lovers. The event will be sanctioned by the Chili Appreciation Society International, and will award the top 10 winners. Additionally, three places will be awarded in the showmanship category. The top three chili winners from the state of Alabama will automatically qualify to cook at the Terlingua International Chili Championship in Terlingua, Texas, next November.
