Alabama homeowners insurance rates kept rising - al.com: "People in Alabama paid the ninth-highest premiums nationally for homeowners insurance, according to new data, although they were typically insuring less expensive homes than in other states.

The data for 2006 from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners showed that the average cost of a homeowners policy in Alabama was $894, up 5.5 percent from the previous year."
