Three swimmers rescued on Pensacola Beach | pnj.com | Pensacola News Journal: "Three adults on Pensacola Beach were transported to Gulf Breeze Hospital on Saturday after being rescued from rough surf in the Gulf of Mexico."

A lifeguard on patrol about 2 p.m. noticed people in distress on the east side of Casino Beach, head lifeguard Dave Greenwood said.

"If a lifeguard hadn't been there, the female could have drowned," he said. "We've been telling people not to go in because it is dangerous."

Details about those rescued were unavailable late Saturday.
