Charter boats in Orange Beach landed the first reported cobia of the season Tuesday, marking one of the most fun times in spring for anglers visiting the coast. Cobia, also known as ling, migrate along the coast and are excellent sight-fishing fare that provide a fun battle on the line.

Two cobia were landed Tuesday on the Killin' Time charters based at Zeke's Landing and piloted by Capt. Jeff Colley. The crew was about 150 yards outside Perdido Pass when they spotted and landed the fish, the largest being 67 pounds. That's a whopper!"
