Orange Beach marina property focus of debate; state may fund boat launch | al.com: "ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- With plans to build a multimillion dollar municipal marina out of the picture, city officials have renewed the debate over what to do with the pricey and unused parcel taxpayers own on Terry Cove.

On Tuesday, Mayor Tony Kennon said that state officials have said they would likely be able to give Orange Beach $200,000 to install a boat launch and 50-spot parking lot on the 5-acre site if the city paid for the facility's design. To that end, City Hall has negotiated a $13,600 contract with Krebs Architecture & Engineering to draw up the blueprints.
