Elberta Sausage Festival set Saturday | al.com: "ELBERTA, Ala. -- More food and music are planned Saturday when the Elberta Sausage Festival kicks off its twice-yearly celebration.
The festival starts at 8 a.m. in the town park north of U.S. 98. This year, organizers will have more sausage on hand for consumption at the site or for visitors to take home, Steve Kirkpatrick, Elberta volunteer fire chief, said.
'We're going to have about 14,000 pounds of sausage this time,' Kirkpatrick said. 'We're gearing up for a big one. We're going to have two more serving lines. We built a new booth and we're going to open that up. Our goal is to get everyone in line served within 15 minutes.'"
