Agent cuts commissions | al.com

Agent cuts commissions | al.com: "Stephene Renee is offering to reduce her commissions to 3.5 percent, hoping to get listings for her new real estate company.

People are looking for a more aggressive real estate approach, but they still want a full-service agency, said the broker/owner of Signature Real Estate, which opened in Spring Hill three months ago.

Real estate agents typically work on commission, usually 5 to 7 percent of the selling price. When two agents are involved in a transaction, commissions are usually divided between the brokers of the companies.

Renee said she would pay the other agent 2.4 percent under her 3.5 percent plan."
