The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said Peter E. Landry, 61, and Charles Martin McKenzie, 46, were caught in a rip current near the shore at Perdido Key Beach.

The private beach where they drowned is located along the Florida/Alabama border between Orange Beach in Alabama on the west and Pensacola on the east."
